I used to mechanic for a helicopter company here in AK & we had self inflating PFDs in the machine for offshore use. We were required to weigh the Co2 cylinders every year to confirm content.

Latest report was that autopsy showed that the bear was blind from an old injury in one eye & had "fogging" of the other eye that would have severly limited vision. kinda explains the erratic...
