Re: SoCal is hot hot hot.

Not meant to be funny! "chem trails" are chemical trails sprayed in the air by airplanes to try and manipulate the weather patterns.

The super power countries have been doing this for several...

Re: SoCal is hot hot hot.

My daughter lives in Long Beach. I go there every year. It used to be "perfect" weather, but things have changed.

All these "chem trails" you see in the sky are weather manipulation. Many giant...

Re: High end ultra light rod

bear,

I had one also, but I sold it? I don't even know why? My Helios is nowhere as good for those little bluegills.

I had the original Superfine with the ring handle. That 7'6" four piece rod...

Re: what stage are you in??

I've loved fishing all my life, fly fishing the last 20.

I still remember the first fish I caught with a fly rod! A "stockie" brown trout, about 11", on a WalMart black stonefly nymph and my 5/6...

Re: Set-Up For Bluegills

I've been using a 3wt 8'4" and having so much fun with the 'gills.

A couple years ago, I had a 1wt Superfine, and it was a "thrill" to catch a 6" bluegill with that rod. I sold it, and I'm so...

Re: Fun with "Feather Flies"

dp,

I sure do! Pinchot is shallow, and the fish bite there first of the season. Also, it's perfect for a float tube.

My "There be Lilly Pads" post was at Pinchot. >50 Bluegills on beadhead...

Re: Smallie Success

You do come across as a professional writer? LOL

Good job! I enjoy it when people use the English language with creative sentences! If you did write a book, I'd buy one.

I did read the entire...

Re: God bless the Bluegill!

Just a random vid on youtube! I posted it because I was having some "backsliding" issues, like fox?

"Presentation" is the key to fly fishing. He explains that in the vid. If I just couldn't catch...

Every day in a different beautiful PA lake, with my 3 wt. Too many fish pix to post!

I love Fly Fishing!

First, I have to say to:

mridendur, busbus, ithrnk03, and jaybo41:

"You don't own me"
"don't tell me what to do"
"I don't tell you what to say, or what to do"
I'm free, and I love to be...

I've already done that! Even though I'm a "born again" fundamentalist Christian, the more I read the Bible the more I'm finding faults with that also! I have a scientific background and...

"The night I put my Fly Rod down"

$800 fly rod, $400 reel, $100 line, high tech waders, Stetson hat, "realistic" feather flies, and years of experience, but the Gulp Alive baits on a spin rod will make you put the fly rod down every...

Re: Embracing The Future

"Orvis Sonic Seam" breathable chest waders!

Perfect fit, and so easy to put on and take off. I've had them for a year now, maybe 200 fishing trips, and no leaks!

Sonic seam means no stitches at...

So funny!

So very true about the "fly fisherman" with his bobber and mending like a idiot! That's where I use a UL spin.

Fly fishing is only great with top water or a streamer and no stinkin'...

Re: "I Give Up...(almost)" Update

I just don't understand this casting thing! The very first time I picked up a fly rod, I could make a perfect cast every time!

Lefty can cast 60' without a rod ...... only fly line! LOL

I guess...
