Here in Virginia we have snakes...and lots of them. They don't bother me or cause me concern. I have been know to catch a few big black pine snakes and show them to the kids in the neighborhood. :eek:

I was swinging my Orvis 5wt, with a 10lb leader and a #2 Black bead head woolly bugger with a purple tail. They can't be that hard to catch if I nailed three fishing for bass

I hit the water after work on Tuesday slapping the water for bass and caught three snake heads :eek: My first snake head on a fly rod and I nailed three:D

I dispatched all three and threw them up...

I saw the dark clouds building up, so I made one last cast and then.....I managed to haul my butt back to shore...good thing, a nice bright bolt of lightning struck the other shore followed...

Tuesday and Wednesday evenings were perfect to whack the water. 11 bass on Tues and 13 on Wed, you have to love an approaching weather front. The biggest was a stocky brute that could tip the scale...

It was a great evening fishing. I lost count of the bass at 10, I probably lost that many to short strikes and my not paying attention...LOL!

With a storm front due in tonight, I'm heading out to the back to wade my tidal flats. The waters surface is flat calm...except for tailing carp up on the shallows and bass chasing dragonflies!
