[Sold] FS: Scott S4s 907/4

It pains me to do this, but I am putting my Scott S4s 907/4 up for grabs. This is a 9' 7wt rod, the S4s model, which is Scott's top of the line Saltwater rod. Billed as fast action, I think this...

Echo DH 6126 12'6" Spey Rod

Hi all,

Again, more gear that I don't use needs to do. There is no need for someone who lives in Colorado to have 4 spey rods!

The rod for sale is an Echo DH 12'6" 6 Weight Spey Rod. I like...

[Sold] Lamson Guru 3.5

Hi all,

I am trying to get rid of some surplus gear and as such this reel is the first to go. I bought this reel last spring and it served as a great reel on my 8 weight for a short time until it...

Re: Steelhead Pics

My first steelhead ever. This guy ate Hickman's Fish Taco (my spin on it) on the swing and it was a great...

Re: Bonefish hooks

I am a big fan of the Gamakatsu SC15 and SL45 for shrimp/crab/crayfish patterns. I like the weight of the hook as well as the sharp point and durability. Gamakatsu makes awesome hooks, but you will...

Re: Winston Question

Sounds like that rod is most likely a guide rod from a pro-deal. Having dealt with Winston's warranty service (they are very particular about which rods they will repair), my guess would be that a...

Re: Help with guides in Durango CO

One more vote for Duranglers. The only time I've been fishing in Durango, they were very helpful as far as access and fly choice. Those guys have their local rivers dialed in and they spend a lot...

Re: Colorado in early April

Much like fishngolf said, the Arkansas can be an excellent option in April. Check out the area near Salida or Buena Vista (which is a short drive from the Springs), or check in with a local fly shop...

Re: Moving to CO feb 1st. Questions questions questions

1. Your out of state license will be the out of state price, unless you establish residency in the state (takes 6 months, so you might be out of luck there)
2. Check out Marty Bartholomew's book "A...

Echo 3 and I'd buy a 6 weight too. Best deal in fly rods.

Re: a way to train your self with fly casting?

Echo Micro Practice Rod. A great way to practice casting on those cold winter days stuck inside. Or, if you're in college, you can use it to make up drinking games with your buddies. Unless you...

Re: Fast action 8wt

With a rod that fast action, a 109gr sink tip won't even manage to load the rod. I would look more in the 200-300gr range for an 8 weight fast action rod. The worst thing you could do would be to...

Re: Great Start to the New Year!

Nice work. I wish I could spend some time in that area..to catch fish like that, but also to drink some Pisgah Brewing Co beer...my friend from NC had a growler full a few years back, and I wish I...

Re: Float Fishing Colorado/Wyoming

I owned a raft for a few years before making the transition to a drift boat after I moved to a more drift boat friendly area. A shameless plug for RM Rafts in Colorado Springs- those guys will hook...

Re: whats fishing in CO right now?

I've been home visiting the parents on break from school and fishing all over the Front Range..in short, nothing is fishing "hot". The recent cold snap has seemed to put things down a bit. I hate...

Re: Floating line... WF or DT

I always thought DT lines were old school and just for old guys, but I've realized how much a DT line can help if you are a dedicated nymph fisherman. Put that on a stiff rod and mend mend mend!!

Re: Any help/ideas for going to OR or WA for steel?

While I won't tell you exactly what rock to stand on, I might be able to help a bit with the lodging and logistical information. Shoot me a PM so we don't have to hotspot anything.

Re: Looking for Bass Rod

I'll throw a vote out there for the Redington Predator. It's quite the broomstick but the 7'10" 8wt can really chuck a big line like an Outbound Short/Titan Taper and has no problem with a 300gr...

Re: How do my clousers look?

Lookin' good! Keep up the good work. I prefer to keep the Clouser a bit more sparse. Sometime I feel that less is more when it comes to patterns like the clouser in an attempt to elicit more...

Another vote for Bugwater and Bugs of the Underworld if you prefer the electronic style. I also like the Hatch Guide to Western Streams, which is a small pocket style book that could come in handy...

Re: Good fly tying scissors?

I'll throw in another vote for Dr. Slick. In particular, I am very fond of the Dr. Slick Microtip scissors. I like being able to cut very clean, especially when tying flies where every wrap counts.
