Whether you care to admit it or not, when you bought that rod you paid extra for it's replacement as well

You could have fixed that guide yourself for pennies or had it done at any good tackle...

No, and most people don't.
It's offered, but the cost of replacement is not factored in to the original retail price....

This comes up often here and I'm always advocating that it's far more important to lengthen your tippet rather than switch to a light "X"
It's very rare that you would ever need a tippet lighter...
