do you weight your line so it get's down deeper? give that a shot, and try some diffrent patterns with lot's of flash, just like with spinner rod lures, fly's with lot's of flash attract bass. and...

in upper queen anne's county their is a plcae called unicorn lake that is stocked with trout. and a few other smaller places, but not much on the way of trout, it's mostly bass and pan fish in farm...

well mainly salt water rods are larger and a higher weight because the fish u catch with them are larger. if your only going for one week i would say see if you can rent a setup or find a guide...
