Re: New #8 bass/pike line

The 40+ Sniper is designed with a shorter heavier head, so i thought i would be more or less the same as the outbound short.

Outbound short is quite expensive :(

Re: Short rods for big flies?

Always those tournament length reasons..

Runningfish sums it up nicely. Nothing to add really.

Try it!

Re: Entry level salt water

TFO Mangrove series.
Airflo Bluetooth.

Both fast action, but not super fast. The bluetooth casts really well.

Re: New 8weight bass/pike line

Thanks. But i'm going with airflo. The sniper is heavier but not so heavy as the obs.

The bass/muskie is more traditional weight i think.

The rod is the ross flystik.

Any comparison between...

Im having trouble deciding here. The heavier grain weight...

Re: Tfo mini mag 6-8

Could the mini mag be the only rod to have for pike/bass.
Or more of an addition to a nine footer?

Re: Frogs and Bass!

Wish we had such bass over here.

Re: Frogs and Bass!

Currently fishing with a tfo clouser rod. But i am into those shorter rods.
Thinking of selling this one and replace it with the mini mag 6-8.

Re: Frogs and Bass!

70 ft should be enough. No bass here, but for pike big distance is not always required.

How is the feel of the mini mag, i've heard it's a broomstick unless you overline it with 2 sizes?
Really...

Tfo mini mag 6-8

Any users using this rod? Very curious about casting distance, since casting from the bank. Would be used for Pike.
Currently use a clouser ten weight, but im very interested in this short rod....

Re: what 6 weight for smallies

The clouser from TFO. fast action but softer tip for presentation.
I use the 10 weight for pike. Casts very accurate even with big flies.

Airflo Bluetooth Nan-tec rod

Hi

Im looking to buy this rod for Pike, either in the 8/9 wt of 10/11 wt version.
Any thoughts about this rod? Looks good on paper, but cannot seem to find some user reviews.

Thanks
