One thing you may want to give a go to, when you're "practicing" for your next build .... after you have a very thin layer of epoxy over the decal, or the threads, or your signature line ......

Can the bark be safely laminated to the cork? I have grips wrapped in rattan (really kewl!!) and a favorite that is birch bark (traditional method), but I'm anxious to see what yours...
