Re: The Shimano Beancounters Just Wrecked Loomis

Last straw for me as well.

That LP is a sweet series, but not for a non-existant warranty!

Should have seen the writing on the wall; warranty kept going down hill, reps are all conventional...

Re: The Shimano Beancounters Just Wrecked Loomis

Damn!

I've professed my love of Loomis fly rods on here plenty of times. The last year or so I have had a strong desire to grab a few Scott's or Winston (Sage actions don't appeal to me. Too...

they are sexy as hell. much nicer than the other cane rods they offered. Scott will start making a dent if they keep this up.

They posted new A4's today.

You know they are saving the best for last.

Tell you one thing.....

I love the colors on the women's A4! I'd buy it!

Veevus?

What are the thoughts of those on the boards?

I currently go between Uni and UTC and am needing to order more thread in the near future. I have heard mostly good things about Veevus, the only...

Re: Pairing for Scott Radian 5wt

A simple reply, which I believe has been mentioned before.....since we are bringing up the two best reels in the industry at this point!

Abel Reels - match the reel to the line weight in 95% of...

Re: For SCOTT ROD Fans...

From what I hear.....

It is more about adding more models to current line ups than it is about introducing a new series.

Although, I think it is time for a G2 and S4s replacement.

Re: Dream Location?

To answer some questions, not that I think it matters as I am simply thinking out loud and on the boards and "fishing" for peoples thoughts if you will.....

Mid 30's, soon to be married, no kids,...

Dream Location?

Well, lets just say I miss my upper Midwest roots too much and it is time to return!

I grew up fishing and camping all over Wisconsin, the UP, Minnesota and NW Ontario. Unfortunately, a job for...

Re: G Loomis Shore Stalker

Loomis did drop their guides, but it was more of an issue with abuse than anything. Similar to the way Sage took the "Pro" program away from the reps and now handles everything in house and direct...

Re: G Loomis Shore Stalker

The ShoreStalker is a beautiful rod!

When compared to the ultra lightweight rods that seem to be popping up, it is a tad heavier. However, this is a personal thing and I personally do not mind a...

Re: Scott Rods?

I've been thinking.....

I may get one or two of the S4s Muskie rods and a 10 foot, 5 weight Radian. I am trying to get them to put a fighting butt on the rod, without going to the anodized reel...

Re: Scott Rods?

Sooooo......

G2 or LP?

S4s or NRX?

Love my Loomis as we have stated before. Really want to run a few Scott rods, but really have no reason to other than curiosity.

Re: Loomis NRX LP?

Loomis has nailed it in my mind!

I'm tempted to get into a couple of Scott rods, have been for a while. However, I can not get away from my Loomis rods. Which is funny, since I refused, for...

Scott Rods?

Like many of you, I just can not remain content with my toys!

The rod addiction is something that seems to root itself deep in me and every so often it pops up. Now is one of those times.

I am...

Re: Sage noobies

The SALT looks like the original Xi and Xi2 from what I recall.

Price should be interesting. All of these new models every year from them however is one of the things I dislike. I like rods with...

Re: G.Loomis - A New Industry Standard?

While Loomis may have its niche's and followers in small groups in the US, Loomis is the most popular brand over seas. Europe and Australia love Loomis. Canada also has a huge Loomis contingent.

Re: G.Loomis - A New Industry Standard?

I am also curious to see how long it lasts, or if it will be taken advantage of!

Example:
- purchase rod for a trip, use rod for the trip, then decide "I'm not happy with it"

G.Loomis - A New Industry Standard?

Seems like Loomis has just introduced a worry free program.

Wonder if this program will fall to the way side or...

Re: Which hatch reels?

There are a brace of outfits of the fishiest order but I am not giving them a 100% grade due to the affixation of the yellow thingamabobber on one of them. Nicely photographed too. Hatch won't...

Re: Which hatch reels?

I have been fortunate enough to fish many different reels from many different manufacturers. On that list are reels from Ross (San Miguel, Big Game, Gunnison), Lamson, Nautilus, Tibor, Abel and...
