Re: Camper/Trailer Stories....

I have a 21' trailer that I love. Best money spent in a long time. Think of it as allowing a luxurious home base when you're out and about. Use the truck for the day and have a "lodge" you can come...

Re: Hook Keeper

Find a local rod builder to put one on for you. Shouldn't run more than $30. I use hook keepers on all of the rods I build. It is the easy way to hook and walk to the next hole

Re: Newbie Questions Regarding Spillways

Not an answer, just a reminder.

Some states (California, for example) have restrictions on how close to a dam you can fish. Make sure the pool doesn't conflict with the Nevada fishing rules and...

Re: most effective way of marketing a fly shop

There are 2 shops around me. One is right off the freeway, can't miss them. The other is a little further out. The one right off the freeway is horrible. The manager is condescending and treats...

Re: Silver Fork of the American River

Don't worry, I am not very good at this either. In fact, this was my second time catching trout on the Silver Fork and the first time I only caught 2 5" fish. Practice practice practice.

I took a...

Re: Silver Fork of the American River

Do you have waders or are you fishing from shore? It can be tough to get into a good position if you aren't getting wet

Re: Silver Fork of the American River

Went out to the Silver Fork yesterday. 12 fish in just under 2 hours. Royal coachman with a weighted hare's ear as a dropper. Takes before 1:00 were on the nymph, takes after 1:00 were on the...

Re: Orvis Sonic Convert. Waders

Great idea!!! I always struggle with my Orvis Guide Wadders. I get them in the boot but it always bunches a bit and can be uncomfortable.

Re: Clearwater vs Access Rod and Reel Size Questions for Newbie

A lot of beginners want to get the fastest/most powerful rod they can get their hands on. But I have found that a slower action rod produces more feel and a better cast. While timing is more critical...
