Denver in spring

I'm planning a quick trip to Denver in March or April to visit my sister.

Should I bring a fly rod or leave it at home?

Any guide suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: Real Combat Fishing in Alaska!

Ship Creek and the Russian are awesome rivers. They keep everyone away from all of the other places.

Re: Fly fishing in Vermont?

I grew up in northern Vermont, but I haven't seen other people fly-fishing there. Actually, last time I was there, I didn't see anyone fishing at all. There are a couple of fly shops around in...

Re: Bear Protection

My dad was here for most of September, so I have not been fishing much. I am going south tomorrow to camp and fish with my son for the holiday weekend. Good luck on the T

Re: Bear Protection

I agree with Ard. When you use bear spray, the bear leaves and you can get back to whatever you were doing. When you bring the hand cannon, assuming you are capable enough under pressure to hit the...

Re: Furled leaders and tippet rings... What am I missing here?

The tippet breaks at the ring on both leaders, but the furled leader seems to stretch before it breaks and comes flying back into a big tangle. Might be better with lighter tippet, but the furled...

Re: Furled leaders and tippet rings... What am I missing here?

I still use a furled leader for the few times I'm fishing dries, but stopped using them when fishing nymphs.

When I...

Re: Living outdoors

I like to go places that the hard side doesn't really fit, like gravel bars and old mining roads. I had a big lance hard side last year, but sold it for the pop-up

Re: Living outdoors

I have a pop-up camper for my truck. It is really only good for 2 or 3 people, but it is nice to get into a heated space when it's cold. To save the battery, we only use the heat when we are awake....
