Re: Source you use for tying?

Thanks all. Thought I would first try maybe a clouser, shad/minnow, and hoppers for smallmouth.

Source you use for tying?

Have had a Peak rotary vise for a while and finally ready to start tying. What is a good on-line source for materials?

Re: Winston Nexus 9' 6wt

Getting ready to get the Nexus 9' 6wt. Got distracted though by the BiiX. Beautiful rod but not sure the performance difference is noticeable for me at my novice skill level. Maybe if I had more...

Re: Cabelas/Galvan?

Surprising to me. Oh well. Brings the FWX back into consideration for me.

Re: Line for 9' 6wt Nexus

Local shop suggested Airflow and a few others. I don't have enough fishing experience myself so will have to rely on experienced recommendations to get me started.

Re: 9' 6wt for NC/TN smallmouth?

Stopped by Cabelas today and fondled a Nexus 9' 6wt. Couldn't find anything I disliked about it. A 20% off coupon and about 75$ in Cabelas bucks made it even more attractive. Thinking I will get...

Re: 9' 6wt for NC/TN smallmouth?

Stopped by my local shop today. No Nexus in stock but did look at a Scott A4 9' 6wt. No 7s in stock except the Sage One. Could save money with a 6wt by getting a second spool for my Tibor Tail Water...

9' 6wt for NC/TN smallmouth?

Going to take a guided trip early summer but have not decided which River, French Broad or S Holston. Will be first time going after smallies with a fly so wondered if 6wt is OK or should I go a...

Re: Rod Wt for French Broad smallies?

Might be just trying to talk myself into buying another rod. If Winston made a 7wt GVX, would have already bought it. Had a chance 2 years ago to get a Z-Axis 7wt with a close-out price and I...

Sounds good. Will let you know if I make it up that way. Grew up in WVa, White Sulphur Springs, and want to get back up that direction.
