Hook with a purple or black rabbit zonker tied to it done. Maybe throw a bead on there to sink it fast. Squirrel zonker will sink faster than rabbit.

IF it is a naturally producing trout stream the pike will eat the fry and eggs of the trout and even the adult trout... This is a problem in AK as someone introduced pike to the state where it was...

Will using a cone too large for the hook rotate the fly?

I used a large brass cone head on a size 8 3x long hook and the thing seems to turn over in the water.... Is the cone size the issue?

I have seen when fish spend their life on the edge of a shadow one half is a darker color to better blend into the environment. This is weird though considering line of color is vertical.
