Dan...

The line is a straight forward 7wt wf-f line... so Id say single handed line.

The last time I used the rod I did mostly roll casting. There were too many bushes etc around me to do much...

I tried to get pictures of the flies but ended up with blurry messes.. but I did post a picture of it in an earlier post asking for a name of the fly..

Ard... Id have to agree with you on the stacked or not... and tbh what I tied already is the unstacked and I think looks more natural.. not a factory finished look... Ill have to try to take some...

ok Im little confused here.. so going to ask what is probably a dumb a$$ question.. tip and base of the tail... I first thought you meant tip as the part furthest away from what use to be the butt...

I have been asked to tie this fly up for a friend of my son in law... I have been told that it is called a hairy minnow and is a 1940's salmon/steelhead fly... if anyone has any further information...

:cool:we generally fish on a very small stretch of the duck river that eventually flows into Normandy Lake.. but have also fished a few small section of the elk.. and also a few of the back bays off...

Over the past three summers I have had good luck with either black or red and black ants in about a size 16.

Some good terrestials such as foam hoppers will get a bass to take notice at the right...
