Re: The new 'tower room heater' in my office.

In a word: Yes. You have to maintain a certain level of heat through out (mines 68) but if there's no one using the space why heat it to 72? That said, some types of heaters (ceramic bars as an...

Re: CB Radios. Anyone, besides me, still carry those on the river?

Actually my 'monicker' was 'Shylock' (Shakespeare's 'Merchant of Venice') as I was in the mortgage lending business. Ever notice it is someone else that 'hung you with a name' that stuck?

Re: CB Radios. Anyone, besides me, still carry those on the river?

Actually they're the same thing: Under dash or hand held. From memory here only .... but I think they're all limited to 5watts so it isn't much compared to a 'Ham Radio.' There the power can be...

Thumbs up The new 'tower room heater' in my office.

Yes-Yes a mundane topic ... unless you're freezing your cute little butt. Not a large home (how big does someone my age need?) but my office is at the end of the food chain for the gas furnace. To...

Re: This has been a great Fall.

So hear you William. Save for a tiny number of places Oregon doesn't have browns (all plants?). To use the old comment: 'I'd give my left nut' for a fish like that.:fishing:

Re: A typical sized salmon streamer is?

Agree with a #4 for most situations but I've tied these on 2 to 4x long shank hooks for larger flies. Lots of room to work with and LOTS of 'steel' hanging out the back end.

Question CB Radios. Anyone, besides me, still carry those on the river?

Most of us probably use cell phones assuming you have a tower in range for 'on river' communication. But you don't have to get far from Medford, Oregon and you're out of luck. Not to mention a...

Re: What flavor was your Kool Aid?

"I feel you pain." Sounds like my Jeep! No idea how many full fly boxes are in the thing, most of which haven't been opened in (probably) years. Go Steelhead/Salmon fishing and probably will use the...

Re: 6ft 3wt help

A bit of snow would be an understatement. Here on the West Coast we're dodging the bullet beyond some rain. From (roughly) North Dakota to the Atlantic Ocean the northern tier of States are in deep...

Re: What flavor was your Kool Aid?

Reels; don't ask me why but every rod I have is 'locked and loaded,' just put on top of the Jeep and 'out of here.' Soooooo what's with the PILE of reels here in my office (no rod connection). Nine...

Hi Ho Andy!

Fred here, ya the 'same' Fred.

If you find what you want, but the seller won't ship across the Pond, I can take care of that. I've shipped well over a dozen rods to the UK and each...

Re: I can't get enough!

Major city in all of southern Oregon is Medford. We consider you are in a traffic jam if you're the 6th car at a stop light. :secret: But you never heard that here.

If you fish where the Winter's are really cold, add wind to make it even more miserable, :eek:and this looks like a darned good deal for under twenty bucks.

Re: Selecting a flyline before you buy a rod?

Naaaaa you've got it wrong. You start with the fly and work backwards which means the line comes (at best) second. Dozens of 'specialty' lines out there so don't get worked up with that. Is a...

Re: I can't get enough!

Excellent Vid's, especially the first. Sleepy Dog would have been my Husky, now gone but not forgotten. I'd fish, he'd snooze .. move down the beach and he'd get up, follow and flake out again.
