Re: New Orvis......

Too bad on the finish.

I really like the bluish-grey of the H2.

Regarding Orvis re-establishing themselves; I totally agree.

I was a staunch Orvis "hater". However, I have been fortunate...

New Orvis......

I heard Orvis introduced the "H2 Covert".

Have yet to see any images of the rod or hear anything else.

Does anyone know anything beyond this?

Re: New Air rod from winston

Or for the cost of 2 high end (3 for sure) rod an reel combinations (which we know well all have), you can get a nice new upland gun. Something along the lines of a Silver Pigeon V!

I am actually...

Re: Thoughts on Orvis......

Perhaps the wrong word, given your Webster's description.

Most are aware of how the two companies are, and have been viewed.

Winston: one of the most gorgeous rods available with fine...

Thoughts on Orvis......

Just curious how you all view Orvis.

Orvis is notorious for having a stigma about the name and the brand. In a way that is not favorable (as has been advertised by the "Proud Not to be and Orvis...

Thoughts on Hyde?

I have finally narrowed things down to a Clack - Mega Box or a Hyde XL LP.

It seems as though everyone is quick to say something negative about Hyde and just as quick to give the love to Clack. I...

Re: Various Hatch

The only 5 Plus left is the Mid Arbor - Clear/Green. With an 8 weight, you may get 125yds. to 140yds. of 20lb. dacron. The reels did not come with a warranty card.

Of the Hatch reels that I have...

Re: Galvan Grip

Galvan has always had its primary support in the Rockies and west. I know of all of the other reels they make and am anxious to hear first hand accounts on the Grip.

I am in my "I need a change"...

Re: A IMO Thought (Sage/Winston)

All good replies.

I have fished Sage and Winston in the past (Biix, Bii-MX, Xi3, One, Circa) and I like them both. The Winston rods are gorgeous as noted. Sage, I believe is on top in terms of...

A IMO Thought (Sage/Winston)

As I contemplate my next rod purchases, I have concluded that I will be veering from my past Loomis addiction. While the skeletal fish has proven worthy and has never failed me, I feel as though the...

Re: Galvan Grip?

Let's revive this thing.......

Has anyone had a chance to fish this reel yet?

If so, what is the verdict!

I am needing reels and despite loving my Hatch, I am staying open.

Right now I'm...

Tibor Signature Series

For those who have used these reels, what are your thoughts?

I have Hatch reels and have been pleased with them. I love Abel reels for their "customization" and beauty. Not too mention their...

I'm in the market for a few of these rods and am having a really tough time deciding on rods.

I am currently considering Loomis, Winston and Sage.

I have long been a Loomis fan and I still love...

Re: Clackacraft or RO

I am in the upper Midwest. We have some long rivers where the headwaters are rocky and shallow, but the mid to lower sections are wide and tame. I like the idea of the drift boat for the upper...

Clackacraft or RO

I am contemplating a few different options right now.

In the drift boat category, I am looking at the Clackacraft and the RO. Clackacraft has been prompt in answering emails and questions, giving...

Re: Hatch "Trout Unlimited"

You know.......

I've said how often I like Hatch and that they have served me well. But, simply from a price point, for $1k, I'd much rather have an Abel with a custom finish on it.

Re: Is Abel Losing Traction......

As an Abel fan, I wouldn't have to say anything.

I would simply place an Abel in your hands and you would be able to see for yourself.

Re: Is Abel Losing Traction......

First, as some have said, fly fishing is losing people who have the interest. I believe this in and of itself is a compound problem as well. Fly fishing may...
