i googled it the capacity is 350lbs. That is what it is rated to. Its a tough rubber underneath and a tough nylon on top. The whole thing breaks down and is held together with pins.

I like to take 30lb tippet and tie an improvised nail knot to the fly line. then near then end of the tippet i tie a surgeons loop. Its easy and fast to do.
