Line Recommendation - Winston BIII LS 7' 2wt

Can anyone with a Winston BIII LS 7' 2wt recommend a sweet line for it?

And if you've tried different lines on it could you share your experiences?

Re: Guide Costs and Gratuities

When I started this thread I wasn't sure what reaction I would get to my enquiry. Thank you gentlemen for both your replies and PM's. I had visions of stirring up a hornets nest but you have...

Re: Guide Costs and Gratuities

I'm sure you're right. It would be interesting to get an employed guide's input here to set us straight?

Re: Guide Costs and Gratuities

Sure, hence what I said in my first post:

I know it's normal to tip in the US unlike the UK and I understand that workers on minimum wage rely on tips to make ends meet but when you're already...

Re: Guide Costs and Gratuities

Thanks guys for the replies.

As I thought tipping is an absurdity. Why you would pay 20 percent on top of the cost of the service is beyond me. You are already paying very well for what should...

Re: Guide Costs and Gratuities

Hi Fred,

I wasn't comparing guiding costs with another trade but with that of UK guides. The works is seasonal and a guide no matter where cannot expect to earn a years wages in a fishing season...

Guide Costs and Gratuities

Just been doing a little research for a second trip to Montana next year and wanted to get a better understanding of guide costs and tipping. Last year a group of us came over from the UK and fished...

Re: SA Mastery XPS DT4

Thanks for the heads up but the one on flee bay is a 3wt!

See what you have to remember that a US product that sells for $50 is usually sold for 50 in the UK by the distributor which then to you...

Re: Help on Fly Line Float Performance

This happens with quite a few lines. Get yourself a tub of red Mucilin and rub a little on the last two feet of your line before you start fishing ;)

SA Mastery XPS DT4

Would anyone know any store that still has old stock of any SA Mastery XPS in a DT4? It's a favourite line of mine and the one I have is a few years old now and I'd like to swap it out.

I thought I'd share with you all what I've found having spoken to both Beulah and Rio today.

Re: Beulah Platinum Switch Line Recommendation

Hi Fae,

Sorry I should have explained better. My confusion is with this:

The rod is an 8wt and when I look at the Rio tech spec for the Scandi Short Versitip line I see 8wt 485gr but according...

Re: Beulah Platinum Switch Line Recommendation

Thanks for your responses guys.

I chose the Rio Scandi Short for a couple of reasons, mainly its flexibility with not only the various density compensated tips but also when you remove the tips...
