Re: Spring fed pond with stocked trout?

I was able to make it out. I didn't end up landing anything. I did hook one on a white wooly bugger bu it got off as soon as it got close enough to see. I didn't set the hook near good enough. Then...

Re: Spring fed pond with stocked trout?

I'm not sure how deep the pond is, this was my first time fishing this pond. I was just blind casting since I couldn't see any fish. I would say that the pond was about 100-130 yards across. The next...

It's at Missouri Western. I tied up a few white woolly buggers and am trying to figure out what I have to make some worms. Thanks for the tips.

Spring fed pond with stocked trout?

There is a spring fed pond on campus that has stocked trout in it. I tried fishing it with a 5 weight using streamers and have about 8 feet of 4 lbs fluorocarbon as a leader. I didn't catch anything...

Any fly shops in St Joe, MO?

I'm just wondering if anyone knows if there are any shops in St Joseph, MO that carry fly equipment. I don't want to have to go to Cabela's in Kansas City if I don't have to when I need to get any...

Re: Storing waders and boots

I do exactly as ditz does. It takes away the stress from the weight of the boots and lets any moisture that's inside run out.

Re: New member intro. and a question.

I finally got to play with the rod this weekend. I did the penny test and it ended up taking 71 pennies to get the rod bent. I havn't checked to see what weight that comes to. And the line is a...

Re: Carpin

What do you guys think about using a 5 weight for carp? Depending of the area of the lake I fish they average 5-10 lbs with open water in one area and in certain areas they will average 10-20 lbs...

Re: New member intro. and a question.

What I mean that I can't get the line to shoot is that with with 20 feet of line out that when trying that I can only get 6" to a foot of line more to come out of the rod. Sometimes I can't get any...

Re: New member intro. and a question.

I'll try that. Do you know if there are any stores that have reels prespooled with different weights of lines so that you can test different weights of line on your rod? If not then I think that...

Re: New member intro. and a question.

Thanks for the advice. I can't wait to get back home this weekend so I can see what the rods measure out to. I'm not sure if I missed it or it wasn't there, but in the article was there a way of...

Re: New member intro. and a question.

I didn't really think about it but compared to the 5 weight the 8 doesn't feel like it's loading at all. Compared to the 5 it feels more like I'm swinging around a 2x4.
