Since youre first getting there its most likely morning and lower light, so streamers. Size 10 Beadhead Olive bugger throw that till I start catching them or an obvious hatch starts then I change.

While most of my bass fishing is for largemouth I throw a 7 weight 99% of the time and its plenty so out of a 6 weight and a 8 weight id pick the 6, as long as youre not throwing anything to gaudy...

Size ten Olive bugger fished as fast as you can strip it in while still 2-4 inches under the surface. I fish for trout almost exactly like bass.
