Re: Reel Suggestions for Circa 479?

Awesome

I went with the Click II on a 1wt even though the shop sold my wife a Click I , I returned it for the II just in case I ever wanted to shove 3wt line on the reel. I chase dinky fish so...

Re: Nymphing - indicator or no?

Well

I am visually challenged and I don't wear glasses or contacts on the water so "watching the tippet" probably not going to work at all

So yeah unless I am doing some real tight line...

Re: Sage One: very fussy going back in the tube

Agreed another 1/4" diameter on the tube wouldn't have hurt

I found I have to put to handle cork piece in cork side in and the rest of the three pieces "right side up" then it fits better, not...

Re: Reel Suggestions for Circa 479?

It is the Click II, the Click IV is same model just a bigger size to accommodate the 4-5wt lines.

Whats in the pictures is a TXL-f 1710-4 with a Click reel (size II) and Rio Trout LT DT line

Re: Reel Suggestions for Circa 479?

Since I am sort of a tackle junkie, and threads like this get the gears turning. If I had to do it over again and mind you I catch sub 16" trout (mostly 11-14") fish and I had your budget I would...

Re: What am I missing?

What you are missing is some subtle differences in performance, weight, precision in build, maybe some quality difference in the components , cork etc etc

Just like a hunting rifle scope...will a...

Re: Reel Suggestions for Circa 479?

Did you pull the trigger on the rod already ?

I don't think a lot of guys around here have Circa's, a few do but not an abundance. Obviously it's a very light rod and your budget is ample to get...

Re: 'Bug Collar' Question

Looks cool but probably no for me, since I would have to buy 300 of each color in each size "just in case"

As Jason said though as soon as someone posts a pic of a pattern that hammers fish my...

Re: Simms Rivertek 2 Boa boot????

I don't have the Rivertek 2 but the original. Gotta say Larry I bought them and the G4 BOA this year (summer/winter boots). If I had to go back in time I would have just gotten two pair of the...

Re: Pulled the trigger on a T&T!

Ah gotcha makes sense. I would speculate heavily canopied areas will also require a fair amount of roll casting. I've never spent a ton of time roll casting my Circa so I can't comment as to how it...

Re: Pulled the trigger on a T&T!

I have a Nautilus FWX 3/4 on my 389-4 Circa, that would probably be a good choice. On my 1710-4 TXL-F I do have the Sage Click II and it is a sweet set up.

If I was getting the 379-4 Circa I would...

Re: Pulled the trigger on a T&T!

Congrats can't wait to hear reviews from you

When you get your Circa now you might want to look at the 379-4 version . Your fast and medium rods now have you covered across a broad spectrum. Maybe...

Re: Parachute and Caddis Dry Attempts (Pics)

So I have a confession, I am so obsessed with tying the "perfect" Parachute Adams I bought the NorVise for the ability to spin super fine dubbin threads to really build a nice taper. I bought a half...

Glad you got out, I am jealous

Thanks for sharing and I bet those fish were a blast on that circa, especially with that cold water. I find the trout here get real frisky when the water is that...

Well I will simplify this as some one who owns 2/3 of your list and fondled the third a lot.

Pick which one meets your budget, specs you would prefer size/width and is pleasing to your eye then...
