I have used cheap cabelas reels, old martins, low end redington,and a few other brands I cant recall. I have never splurged and spent much on my 4 wt because it is basically just holding line. But...

I only use a floating line, I have a 10 wt St. Croix and use the SA Musky line in 10 wt and it casts just fine. I have used the tyger wire as a leader and like it. There are some wire leader...

I use a St Croix 10 wt with the Musky floating line ( I think it is SA). Works real well with the big flies. One thing I learned for a leader is to use the Tyger Wire for a leader. Easy to work with,...

I have a 4 wt 8' rod that I need a reel for. Not looking for anything overly fancy, just a working reel. I have had a few different reels and was never satisfied with any of them. Anybody got advice...
