Re: Branson area fly fishing

Zebra midges with copper, and rust duns. Also, pulling cracklebacks through the film has done well for me. Everyone recommends scuds and such, but I've never bought in. I also recommend sculpin type...

I'm currently using Cortland 444 on my TFO Pro 8' 4wt. I'm not getting the performance I want. I'm just not feeling it load and it's very quick. Can anyone suggest a line that I can replace that with...

So..even though I grew up in Southern CT, I never did anything more than bank fishing local reservoirs and fishing off my grandparent's dock at Candlewood Lake.

I'll be taking a trip there this...

Re: Netflix

I haven't found much on fishing. However, my Netflix replaced my cable. I save a lot of money for the few hours a day I get to sit and watch anything.

Re: the realm of scotch

When I drank the Scotch, I enjoyed The Dalmore. Probably not 18 yr. I don't recall the age. I also liked Bushmills.

Then I switched to Bourbons.

Re: My real rod weights

Okay...so since I lack pennies and/or a digital scale, anyone want to give me a reading (real or best estimate) on a TFO Pro 4pc 8' 4wt, LOL?

Re: where is all the MO anglers?

Cold weather and $$ has kept me indoors this winter so far. It's a good hour to each of the trout parks for me and that's gas money I'm just not spending now. Not to mention that it's been really...

Re: over weighting line?

This has been an awesome thread. I just discovered the beauty of overlining this past summer. It seems that all the newer economical rods are fast/med-fast and personally, I find overlining them...

Re: 2wt Reels

As a late coming response, you may want to look up Shu-Fly Rod Co. They sell reels also. They state 3/4wt, but I have one on a 6' 6" 3wt and it balances well, so I imagine it would do the same for...

Re: FLY REEL / Line ADVICE

I've used the Cortland 333+ line. I like it. I don't much care for the 444.
I've heard good things about RIO mainstream and RIO Grand, but have not tried them.

Re: New cherished fly rod from our youth

My first fly rod is still my favorite. It's a Cortland Fairplay rod 8' 5/6wt. I put 6 wt line on in and a BPS Hobbs Creek reel. I absolutely love this set up. I've taken trout, bream, bass on it.
