Sheep Creek Fire (Tounge River Canyon) now at 1100 acres

This is certainly disappointing. Unknown but human caused. Started out as a 1/2 acre fire on Sunday but they have no way to fight it. I do see a little rain on the radar right now but I don't know...

Re: Wyoming Casting for Recovery Retreat

Good work/post Larry. I read things like this sometimes and think to myself: "This post is better than most articles I read in the fly fishing magazines I pay to subscribe to".

Re: Big T- Fern Lake Trail 7/3/2105

Comeonavs, by some coincidence, I fished the exact same water the day after you.

I had always looked at satellite photos and had a fantasy about fishing the Big T in the upper Forrest Canyon, so...

Re: Road info needed from Denver airport to Este Park

That's just Colorado for ya, this year won't be any different. Your best bet in these situations is to use the map traffic function on your smart phone to know when you're coming up on it and maybe...

Re: North Platte Adventures

I'm ignorant here, but doesn't the bureau of rec. have control over the discharge of Seminoe (http://www.usbr.gov/gp-bin/arcweb_semr.pl)/Pathfinder (http://www.usbr.gov/gp-bin/arcweb_patr.pl)/Alcova...

Re: Tips for fishing Steamboat this week?

I would try to hit up that area during the work week if you can, as the crowds will be there on the weekend. The area between the first parking lot and the dam hold some large, but educated fish, so...

Re: Upper North Platte Map

I believe this (https://wgfd.wyo.gov/accessto/Floating/UpperNPR/pdfs_web/NorthPlatteEntire.pdf) is similar information to the originally posted link.

Re: Some bug pics

Nevadanstig, I was looking for help with the insect identification (not the photography)

Clay Tonian - you must know your bugs, and thank you very much for your help! I think you're right on the...

Re: Fishing Log

For the lazier fisherman (like myself), just take a picture of everything. I always take a picture of the following things to create a digital log of the trip:

-First site of the river - this...

Re: Cheesman-4/15

Heck yeah, I bet you felt two inches taller on the walk back to the car. So many days end with the story of losing the big one, its nice to know someone out there won one day.

Re: Colorado in June question

I would also recommend the Yampa since there are more places to rent in that area that may be on the river, or the Elk river nearby. If I wanted to land a trophy though I might head over to the...

Re: How's the Snowpack out there?

Alright then. Lets all agree that global warming has absolutely nothing to do with snowpack this year. Climate change does equate to weather. If no human had ever existed, the snowpack this year...

Re: How's the Snowpack out there?

Jim, this is a fly fishing forum. Although your content is mild, I don't see a beneficial purpose here of steering the conversation about the weather in a certain area of the world in a given year...

Some bug pics

I posted this in the Entomology "Bug Pics thread" but haven't gotten any bites so I'm bored and posting it here looking for thoughts.

I'm interested if anyone can improve my assessment of the...

Re: Bug pics thread

Whenever I go fishing, I think of as a two part photography opportunity consisting of the land, and then the wildlife (which includes the fish, the animals, and...the bugs).

I'm interested if...

I'm located in SE Wyoming and mostly fish the Medicine Bow and Routt/Mt. Zirkel areas. Here's to a wet summer:worthy:

Re: How's the Snowpack out there?

I know non-fishermen wouldn't like to hear this, but we really need an April blizzard to come through. Its setting up to look an awful lot like 2012 when wildfires were everywhere and some streams...

Re: Possible move to Wyoming

I've worked in both Rock Springs and Green River for months on end, and I would recommend Green River over Rock Springs based on the people I met in each place. I always seemed to meet friendlier...

Re: Oil found IN Yellowstone Fish

The good news is there aren't any trout in the Yellowstone out that far east. The other good news is I think the only traditionally edible fish in the river of that area are walleye/sauger. Still...

Re: Yampa River

I can't speak for this season, but I've fished it in the winter in the past and you can get to the parking lot past the dam, but no further as they put up a gate right there.

Re: RMNP in mid September - Help!

I'm sure some others will offer help now, but most of your questions will be better answered the closer to September. For now I would recommend the search function on this sight you should see on...
