Re: What to wear under Simms wader in summer?

I either wear a pair of lightweight shorts or a pair of quick drying lightweight pants. Like others have said avoid cotton and Gold Bond or corn starch works wonders!

Re: Swift River Massachusetts

The only time I fish that river is during the winter, or during the heat of the summer when everything else is too warm to fish. I personally prefer fishing other freestone streams and rivers around...

Re: Deerfield parking ?

I was actually there on Tuesday. It was my first time ever fishing it, so I didn't have real high expectations. It was more of a recon mission and to throw a few streamers I have been tying up. I...

Re: LL Bean Rod and Reel

I have had a 9' 5wt Streamlight for the past 3 years. I think it's a great rod for the price. It's not a fast action Sage One, or an Orvis Helios but it was one of my first rods and I still love...

Re: '14 midwest trip

I would say anytime in June would be a good time to fish the Firehole. I was there in early June last year and there were lots of caddis around. If I was going in July I would consider going around...

Re: Swift River Massachusetts

Well I ended up hitting the Deerfield today instead. I figured the Swift parking lot would be full today with the weather we had and it would be shoulder to shoulder out there.

I opted for the...

Re: Swift River Massachusetts

I was there a little over 2 weeks ago. It is definitely fishable. I was thinking of going down there tomorrow but I may take a ride out to the Deerfield instead for some new scenery.

August is a time to be fishing the cooler rivers up in the Northeast part of the park. Slough Creek, the Lamar, and Soda Butte should be about peak hopper fishing...
