Re: North Platte Adventures

For those less knowledgable, (myself included!), why is the dropping of the flow such a difficult thing for the fish? Is it that it's less water to grow/feed in?

I'm curious as to the how/why of...

Re: Big Thompson-4/10

I was up on the Big T today, above Drake below the dam...

Pretty brutal conditions- but a few hookups nonetheless. Todays intel is along the lines of:

- some risers to small hatches or midges...

Re: Public Access-Miracle Mile

I might hit the reef in a few days. Any help is appreciated. I typically drift it, but might be wading this time! I have waded the outhouse hole before, are there any other recommendations for...

Re: Poudre

Oh man what a drag on those rods! Must have fallen off a moving vehicle? Like a roof rack or something. How bad does that get home and see your setups gone. :frown:

I was up in the...

Re: Poudre

Hey all, I just want to report that most of this thread is innacurate. ;)

There is no good water up in the secret south fork location, there is rarely dry fly activity on the main branch of the...

Re: Expensive reel for a 3 wt rod?

The term "expensive" is subjective. In terms of $, no you don't need to spend alot of money on a reel for this rod. OTOH, you want to spend enough that you get the right features. A mack truck...

I know right where that is. Fun spot, and yes super spooky fish. Nice work!

You need to hike up to get into cutties prolly. Maybe like Fern? (I think Fern has Cutts).

Re: Megan Boyd movie on Netflix Instant

Here are a few fly fishing videos that are pretty awesome. Some aren't that easy to get a hold of! One pretty sick movie is "In Search of a Rising Tide"...

Re: Laces vs BOA

BOA for me, I'll probably never go back.

My Simms boots are so comfy, I have no pressure points with them and the BOA speed lace system is super easy to get in and out of. Just too convenient.

*NEW* Rio Line Selector App on iTunes

So this just released today (7/14/14).

Kind of a cool app, I just wish it had older rod models too and not just this years? It's not rocket science but I think for an angler starting out trying...

Re: Etiquette

That was the best solution in hindsight I could think of. Definitely a lesson learned in terms of fishing with a new guy and having a backup plan of sorts to allow for variables.

Re: Abel vs. Hatch Debate

My Abel is in stainless silver color.

The only "new school" add I'd...

Re: Time for new boot ?

My Simms boots were "wearable" but began to (after 2.5 years pretty heavy use) to have some of the seams come loose. I sent them back to Simms and had a brand new pair in my mailbox in 2 weeks! So...

I mean also dude,...
