There is a pond off of S Meadows Parkway and one off of Alexander Lake Rd. Both are said to contain Bass and Carp

Re: truckee river NEVADA

right now I would not recommend fishing the Truckee east of Sparks very much due to the lowest water levels we've seen in a number of years and the temps. Water temps are in the mid to upper 70's...

Re: Walker River, NV, and Mason Valley Area

I rarely head that way to fish but have heard that Topaz is pretty low. Mason Valley can be fun for largemouth and has some good trout in it. The rest of summer for me will be spent at Hobart and...

Re: Truckee Fish Kill

It was a bummer that they shut the flows off so quickly but a good number of the stranded fish were saved thankfully. I went up there in the afternoon after they shut the flows off and I only saw...

Re: Verdi

With the rapid drop in water when they shut the flows from Boca off I'm sure we lost a considerable amount of buglife during it. I'm guessing that could be a contributing factor. Haven't been on...

re: Truckee river (CA not NV)

I went up to the LT the day they cut the flows but by the time we got up there the fish in the areas we could get to were all either saved or dead. we did rescue some crayfish though. Cal fish and...

re: Truckee river (CA not NV)

I'm pretty sure this is a fairly new booking for the clinic as two well known names tied to the fly shop are not happy with the new owner from what I've heard.

Re: Verdi

Sorry I didn't see this post earlier, had a very busy weekend. Fishing the Truckee right now through town is a very touchy subject. Extremely low flows and high water temps are putting a lot of...

re: Truckee river (CA not NV)

From stateline down I would not recommend fishing the Truckee until water temps cool down. The flows through Reno have been cut to around 100 cfs for a high point since Boca flows were cut off and...

Re: Cross Country Fly Trip

Re: Little Virginia Lake/Eastern Sierras...What worked...

The EW flows look alright in that pic but the reservoir sure is low. Went up to Stampede and Boca Reservoirs near Truckee last week and it actually scared me. I've never seen either as low as they...

Re: New guy from Minnesota.

My trips back to MN to fish usually call for at least an 8wt for pike and a 10wt for the muskies I chase on Sugar Lake. Bass can be had on a 6 or 7wt. The Fly Angler in Blaine is my go to fly shop...

Re: First Tiger Trout

Spooner is easier to get to as it is right off Hwy 50. Hobart takes a little more to get to. It's 5 mile long 4 wheel drive dirt road that has some drainage troughs all over that makes it slow...

Re: Cabelas fly lines

I have a cabelas line on my 6 wt and after a few trips out it started sinking big time. I have heard other people have good success with them though.

Re: How long does it take from your home to the water?

For me the Truckee River is only 5 minutes from my house but is unfishable for the rest of the year due to an extreme drought and high temps. My favorite water is Pyramid about 30 mins from my house.

Re: First Tiger Trout

The main places I know of in NV with Tigers are where you caught them, Knott Creek Reservoir, Spooner Lake and Hobart Reservoir. Here's a couple that I hooked at Hobart.

Heading up to Hobart on Sat with my friend Steve. I've heard good reports on ants and Royal Wulffs on top. I'll hopefully have some tiger pics on Monday

re: Truckee river (CA not NV)

Fishing the Truckee out east is now out of the question imo. Water temps are hitting into the 70's right now. and they are about to drop the flows even more after the 25th. The tube hatch has hit...

Glad you had an awesome time up there. Did they have the taxi going or did you have to hike around Saddlebag?
