It's smaller in June.
One store was having a really great sale on their carry-on luggage… I mean they were almost giving it...

Re: Fly sizes, larger fish, and small tippets

I like to fish the braided line and use a 4 to 6 foot piece of 4# test fluorocarbon leader. I fish the Amago 4:6 and the Ayu 5:5 rods and I regularly land fish in the 2 pound range. My largest...

Re: Furled vs. Single Strand

I just took out all my rods and all my fly lines, both level and braided, and tried them out to see which I liked the best. I even tried different weight and bulkiness flys on each line.

Anyone...

Oio, Self Portrait

How do you take a picture of yourself so friends will believe your "fishing tale"?
Attach your GoPro camera to a mangrove root, set it to take a picture every 4 seconds... and
hold your fish. The...

Re: Tenkara? Is it worth a try? Even tho.....

While on a float trip in Bozeman, MT 4 years ago I pulled out my tenkara rod and was laughed at and teased unmercifully. But let me tell you, even with a 5wt fly rod, after 5 days of "mending" the...

Re: Christmas Island Bone Fish

Looks good to me… Amazing that the sparse tied flys seem to work best there.
Here on Oahu it's big and bushy. LOL

Re: Old or New ?

My tenkara rods are a far cry from the old cane pole, even the bamboo rod my Dad gave me. Even the modern flyrods of today. It's nothing like a Crappy Rod... I like it because it's light and...

I find using attractants as messy, and prefer to try and "match the hatch".
Take my Salmon Egg patterns that I tie using "dog food brown" yarn to...

They seemed...
