Re: How do you deal with...

I can understand, though not justify, the pressure some guides are under to get some fish on their client's line. If they don't, their tip washes way with the river, or decreases in magnitude. This...

Re: NRS inflatable drift boat ? Freestone/Clearwater drifter

Took a river trip on the Roaring Fork with a guide on an inflatable drift boat. You wouldn't be able to tell it was inflatable just by looking at it, and it did float on just a couple of inches of...

Re: Summit County CO

Try Fairplay. The river as it flows through the town should be fishable. I've had great success there, plenty of mid size hungry rainbows.
Not sure about cutties though

Re: Study indicates Lake Huron's Chinook salmon fishery unlikely to recover

We could always capture and export them.
People in France and Spain pay through the nose for sea lampreys. I wish we could buy them at the fishmonger's they are delicious! In my humble opinion the...

Re: Runoff in Colorado

Great resource!
I see that the snow pack for Colorado is a little above normal to a little below.
What is problematic is to try to predict when it is safe to go somewhere for the weekend.

The...

Runoff in Colorado

So here goes a query:
What do you, expert gentlemen predict for the runoff this year?

I know, making predictions is hard, especially about the future.

But what's everyone best guess at when it...

Re: How do you deal with...

You could also light up a nice, big, fat cigar. If anyone of the bozos object, explain that you object to their crowding you, and that it is your God given right to smoke in the outdoors.

You...

Re: How do you deal with...

That is so true. Talking to them usually helps. Of course if it doesn't then the only options are never good. Confrontation, which has unpredictable endings, or leaving your spot, which yields the...

South Beaver Creek, Thursday April 28th

With the wife having surgery on Friday, prospects for any fishing on the weekend are nil, zip, nada. Even if that wasn't the case there was a storm coming in. It was Thursday or nothing.
I'd tied...

Re: Wyoming in August

Anybody fished the Saratoga area in August?

Preseving skins

Short of taking them to a taxidermist, what do you do to preserve skins of animals, when you shoot them yourself?
I hunt pheasant, chukar, and hungarian partridge (and other things if they show up)...
