Vladi Worm tips?
I'm wondering if anyone has tied any of these. I've twisted up a few, but I always have issues with neatness. I don't think the fish care, but I have a hard time (careful here people) getting the...

Re: Cabela's 3 Forks 3wt/Prestige Plus Combo
I own this rod as well and it is my go to rod for small creek fishing. I really enjoy it. Even when I double rig it with a dual nymph combo and some weight it seems to do OK. Naturally throwing...

Re: Favorite rod and reel combo
You've got me "green" with envy! My new favorite rod is a Winston BIIx 9ft. 4 wt. I love it! Paired it with a Allen & Co. Alpha reel and have been very happy.

Re: R.L. Winston Boron
Love my 4wt. 9 ft. BIIx! I don't know how they did it, but they are able to generate pretty fast line speeds without feeling stiff at all. It feels similar to my St. Croix Avid as far as action...

Slipped away from work for a couple hours mid afternoon and caught a couple of Cutts on the SF. One on a size 8 Black Rubberlegs, one on a green and brown Dorian variation of a Czech nymph. Neither...

Re: RIO Gold vice ROI Trout LT
The Avid is an amazing rod. Medium-Medium Fast action and very versatile. If you are planning on using it as a dry fly specialty type rod then the LT would do you just fine. If you want it to do...

Re: Foam Hopper Patterns (???)
I don't have any specific patterns for you, but fishing foam hopper patterns in the late summer/early fall is one of my favorite things to do! I've had much success with foam hoppers.

Re: Allen & Co reel? what do you all think?
Got my Alpha 3/4 today. Looks great. I will fish with it on my new (recently built) 9 ft. 4 wt. BIIx on Saturday and leave a review for all, as I told Justin I would do.
For what it is worth,...

Re: Wich line on my albright GP
I heard somewhere that with dual rated rods they are usually rated for a DT/WF rod. I don't remember in which order, but if it is a 5/6 it is a 5 wt WF line/6 wt. DT line or vice versa.

A couple Rio line observations
Yesterday I cast a 4 wt. 8'6" Winston BIIx. One my friends at the shop bought it and I recently purchased the same blank, but 6" longer to build a rod so we were testing out lines to see what fit.
