5 wt is too small for pike but when I hear "pike", I think PIKE...not hammerhandles.

7 wt is the minimum rod for both...

Myself...love a fresh steelhead, coho or walleye but seasonal or body conditions (water temps and/or spawning) dictate when. I will also freeze steels if they are in my 'slot size' as below.

I am sure you meant "A" taper on the other end as DT stands for Double Taper. So, in effect, at one end of 'your' line would be a WF taper (bulky/thicker end) and the other, a taper-to-leader...
