Great choice it's a durable beastly type of rod, love my 8wt just got it too.
Ill end up with 6wt and a 9wt ion at some point.

X 2 on an ion or edge, I own a few echo rods and love them they are good good quality and very durable plus lifetime warranties.

Ended up ordering a echo ion 8wt, I think it'll be more versatile as I can just upline it with 9wt line. Should be a great starting point for bass,wiper,carp and pike

That's what I was thinking, ill prolly end up with a 9wt anyways as I've got a 7 wt and love it so an 8 prolly would not be used but then again that's what I was thinking with a 9

Pike 8 or 9 wt

What's most used for pike fishing 8 or 9 wt, Ive read alot use 9 wts but I'd like to get people's opinions here that fish for them in Colorado.
I'm thinking of pairing up a 9wt redington crosswater...

Vice finally showed up and I must say the quality is outstanding for a 60$ vice.
Definetly would recommend griffin vice's.
Hopefully I can get my first flys(clousers and deceivers) tied up in a...

Any info on wiper fishing in fortcollins area would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe some info on types of fly patterns, have heard horstooth to be good from shore but the place is so big I'm not sure...

ended up getting a griffin superior 2a vise, went with this rather then a spider due to it holding bigger hook size.
plan on tying up some clouser minnows for my first flies in a week or two :D...
