Re: Ultimate indicator nymphing stick?

Yes! Seriously consider a 10 footer, I wanted a 9'6" but got talked into the 10 and the extra 6 is noticeable when mending and roll casting.

True, with a few exceptions most 10 foot rods are...

Re: 9' 6wt for NC/TN smallmouth?

Congrats and sounds like you got a sweet deal on it too! I've heard rumblings that the 906 Nexus is a sweet spot in the lineup so you will have to report back to us.

Re: Line for 9' 6wt Nexus

I'm with Moucheur on this one. The rod is new enough that it will be a little bit of a guessing game but most Winstons are true to line weight and the lines that work well on the Biiix should work...

Re: Filling the gap

Honestly, I think you next rod should be a 10 foot 5 or 6 wt. I say 5 or 6 because some 10 foot rods are true to line weight, while others require over lining. Get the one that will work with the 6wt...

Re: Clearwater vs Access Rod and Reel Size Questions for Newbie

A big plus one on the the Imperial line. It's a fantastic blank in the 4,5 and 8wts. St Croix keeps the cost down by using less expensive components but it will hang with many rods in the "mid price...

What would help us help you is a little more info on what species you are targeting, the water bodies you are fishing, and if you are wading or fishing out of a boat, float tube, etc.

Based on...

Re: Sling Pack Recommendations

+3 for the Patagonia Vest front sling. It's very light weight and well thought out. It has just enough pockets on the front that if I pack it right I rarely have to get into the back portion.
