Sage have just came out with a line of pike and musky rods that look nice. I use a loomis crosscurrent 9 and 10 wt.

Great post Ard! I hear a lot about that "far and fine" Some think it is the best rod Orvis ever produced. I've never cast one though.

You don't have to be a guest to fish the DSR. You can stay at lodgings off site and pay a fee each day to fish there. I believe it's $45 per person per day. If your coming from France...

I used to be obsessed with distance before I figured out how to haul. Now whatever!
I think for the fishing I am doing it's more important to be able to pick up about 40/50' of line off the water...

I use a Harris Solitude IV for steelhead sealed drag also. Awesome reel and looks great. It has a silent drag though which some don't like.
I believe they are also good for salt.
