each of us are biased as to what we think it should look like. go fish it and let the fish decide

The trout doesn't find the proportions off, but if they start to disagree they'll let you know :D

in my historical research of the pattern i have found no less than 6 recipes for this fly and its really hard to know which one is the "mother"...

not all of the 189 patterns on Charlie's website are in any of his books

you don't have to print anything. just save each pdf in a dedicated folder on your hard drive, thumb drive or a memory card

there is absolutely no need to stray from your comfort level and start tying tiny flies

OK youre happy with the size 10's so make the transition by tying a few on size 12 and then slowly progress...

I think Christmas tree silver tinsel is a little too flimsy/thin/delicate for fly tying usage

However I have bought the holographic type of tinsel and that seems to be a little bit thicker and...

that would un-matte them and remove any residual dye from the dyeing process
