I am a cigar guy myself. Love the taste and the fact it keeps the bugs away. Salmon have been known to hit a but of a cigar floating down the river. This is where the concept of the bomber fly came...

Crazy that they would advocate such measures. My great-grand father used to relieve people of their gill nets in the river using frozen hay bails.

I had some leftover material laying around and tied up this beast. Sz 2 mustad salmon hook. Tail is Claret Marabou and body is red rabbit strip.

I'm trying to decide on a grip shape for my rod I'm building. It is an old old school glass rod. I will be using it for dry fly fishing and precision ish casting. I have not tried a cigar...
