I will be checking out the North Platte and hopefully Encampment too. Thanks for the suggestions. I do appreciate the help.

Looks like I will be visiting the area in the first part of Sept...

North Park Area of Colorado

I am going over to Fort Collins in a week or so, but I would like to stop for a day or so to fish in the North Park Area (Walden). Does anyone have any suggestions? I prefer the more out of the way...

Welcome to BFT.

I'd fish your backyard any day! Love hear a little introduction and at least a general location.

Have fun on your Winds trip.

Re: My corner of the World.

I generally watch the fires pretty close to see where the smoke is going. This year has been particularly ugly for fires that have destroyed homes and other properties. The fires in Washington,...

Re: Has anyone ever tried these for wading?

I have used spiked ones at times. I needed to use a shoe lace to get a better lacing on my boot, but they worked well on the rocks.

Re: Embracing The Future

Most of what I appreciate of the new technology has already been said.

Number 1 for me is Google Earth and overlays like SMA Surface Management Administration, which shows BLM, Federal, and...

Re: Sparks Marina

Yes, a GGnat would work. I haven't had much luck with dry midge imitations on still water. Seems like it is usually better fishing a chronomid either close to the bottom or in the water column.

Re: Idaho Small Streams Part 2

Allen, I am surrounded by world famous waters, and where do I fish? Little streams and tributaries that I seldom ever see anyone else on. I love the small streams. It is so much fun to explore the...

Re: Sparks Marina

I'm not familiar with the Sparks Marina. What kind of fish?

Are you looking for dry fly suggestions? If not a leech, chironomid, or even a mayfly nymph fished below the surface should produce.

Re: Idaho Small Streams Part 3 More Cutts

Tell Joni to heal really quick. You guys have to make your fall trip to Henry.
It's hard not being able to do what you love, but in reality... tell her not to rush it.

Idaho Small Streams Part 3 More Cutts

The winds of change shifted and the smoke came in, so I left to go to a different area…again. This stream has some very pretty sections. That wasn’t where I was fishing this time. The ambiance...

Congrats on your first tiger. I have yet to catch one, but it is on the list. Idaho will soon be stocking a few. I hope that they are a hit here as I can think of several places that could use a...

Idaho Small Streams Part 1

I spent three days last week on a medium sized stream and I hiked into various parts of it. This is such a pretty stream that I ended up with way too many pictures of both it and the fish. It's one...

Re: How long does it take from your home to the water?

I am pretty lucky in that I live within an hour's drive of a lot of fishing. Although I usually travel at least an hour or more for most of my trips. I like to explore other streams and areas....

Re: beavers!

Bummer on the ponding of your stream. They certainly are a pain when they are in the "wrong" place, but beavers do a lot of good too.

On some of our dry area streams their dams hold enough...
