Re: Has anyone been out in Illinois recently?

Re: Tarpon fly swap anyone?

I had ten times rather swap there than here for reasons that I will not go into. I could really elaborate on why I feel this way, but it wouldn't amount to a hill of beans.

Re: question

While growing up, we always used these snaps when fishing ultra light stuff on spinning gear. The fish never seemed to mind. Of course, we were casting to hungry bluegill and largemouth, not to...

Re: Need Advice

Go with the BVK. And pair it with a Lamson Konic. You wont be out a ton of money and the drag on that reel will handle any bass you put it up against.

Just my 2 cents,

Re: flyrod for smallmouth

Your 5 wt will work, so long as there isn't much wind. You can toss clouser minnows with your 5wt, just be careful! Of course, the most of this depends on your casting skill.... I will typically...

Re: Not to nit-pick....

I agree with Ard that the swaps need a little re-vamping. We need start holding each other accountable for getting the flies in on time so that they can get back to us in a timely manner...

You can get a pair of Cabelas breathables (stocking foot) and a pair of boots as a "combo" for around 150 or so.... Decent waders and boots too!
