I've cast the H2 in that size and it was a dream. With that said I would suggest the Hardy rods.

I use a 13' 9 wt spey and a 9'9wt single hand for atlantics so a 10wt sounds about right for their bigger cousin.

I have Greys other 13' 8/9 weight and use the airflo rage compact and it is great. It is a compromise between the scandi and skajit.

I am very proud to announce my second daughter was born on Dec 11 at 2:02am weighing in at 8lbs and 21.5'' long. Caitlyn Audrey will be shown how to fish in the coming years.

One of the guys I fish with uses this rod as well. He has an 8 wt and uses the SA saltwater line which loads the rod beautifully.

I think the technical name for the fish is the maximus jawuos. It translates into fresh water large jawed mako shark. ;) Those are some great shots.

If you're going with a 10' rod you might as well go 11' and get the switch. You will have a far more open opportunity to fish with it and can go with spey style casts if your arm gets tired.

I would say look for a princess or a medalist and have beautiful looking and working reels.
