Re: Bowfin

Good luck! I've never intentionally caught one, yet I see no reason why they wouldn't be worth pursuing. While you're at it, you might get lucky and catch a Gar. I've caught a couple where the...

Re: Bowfin

Well Dogfish are a predatory and though they'll eat a lot of things, other fish would rank right up there. To that end I would use a streamer or top water much like you would for bass or pike, yet...

Clearwater N.F. Route/Road Question?

Hi All;

Typically when I travel to the N.Fork of the Clearwater I run:
1. Lolo to Kooskia/Kamiah along Id.-12 along the Lochsa
2. Kooskia to Greer along Id.-12
3. Greer to Weippe then...

Re: 6 wt. for lake erie steelhead

With my Orvis 3wt. "Tippet" (1995 full flex) I hooked into a 28+" long though lean river holdover Steelhead "pulling him" out from under the bank he was in to start the fight....and though it took...

Oh and for the record, I'd be really surprised if the Beaver "attacked." It reads more like it threatened and the two guys about killed themselves running away........No judgments though, we all...

Re: The rude Alaskans

Don't you know anything about public waters? If you don't push back it's not combat fishing. You need more arm flailing and cursing. Also drink bottled beer so you have empties to heave.

Hope...

Re: Uh, watch out for beaver

Here in Michigan we encounter Beavers regularly when "up-north", though in most cases they just zip to their lodges and that is that (wish I had more time, I need to start trapping again). In any...

Re: Weedy Pond on Sunny Hot Day HELP

Re: Took the kids fishing

Awesome trip report and very clever having only one fish while another nets at a time. Keeps you from having three issues coming at you all at once (barring the "it's my turn" typical stuff). Well...
