Re: First aid kit

What do the demographics tell us about a large segment of fly fishers?

Where redundancy is to be kept to a minimum, we carry a few aspirin ( because of it's other use in First Aid ) in place of...

Re: Californian Fish Evacuated Due to Drought

This is kind of a non-story. I got a notification from NDOW a couple of months ago that Nevada was going to expedite the majority of their river stocking of trout ( I think it was back in April ),...

It depends a lot on the watercraft you're using.
We only do overnights during fair weather, on rivers we know and only during times when safe flows can be accurately predicted.

Re: Tipping

Re: Drift Boat (?)

I think there are those of us, who are just boaters. We don’t look for cost / benefit relationships, we’d have a boat even if we lived in the middle of the desert. We live along a large river and I...

Re: Keeping 'Nasties' out of Oregon!

I’ve gone through the inspection processes in a couple of states and on site at specific waters. For the most part, they’ve been a breeze. It helps having a rig that launches without getting the hubs...

Re: Found an old Sage in my garage

Or the old bronze colored, click and pawl 500 series Sage reel.
If you hook something that gets onto the reel, folks around you will know.

Re: Why aren't more trout anglers using double taper lines?

Why a weight forward?

1) Itís what the starter outfit they bought came with.

2) Itís what the shop set them up with.

3) Itís what most respondents on-line will tell them they should buy.

I see the logic in that. If it were a simple click and pawl design that we decided on, wouldnít we be wiser to copy one of the more modern and popular large arbor C&Pís with strong brand...

Re: Counterfeit Orvis CFO's?.....

My question is why?

As long as we're on the subject, I find the idea of knocking off the CFO with an exacting replica by an unscrupulous vendor not without merit, based on it's long run and...
