Re: Hyde drift boats?

Your alone, posters gave him some general information and tried to be helpful which to me is what he was looking for. No reason for you to scold everyone. No offense.

I agree you can do better than Andy Kim, Chip out of Aztec Anglers or Fishheads is tops in my opinion and I have fished with a bunch of different guides on the Juan. You will get more than the...

Re: Stream rules: rant content... beware.

No ones mentioned it but on some rivers the guides are the worst. Two sets of rules one for them and one for the average guy. Best thing to do is move on and avoid conflict, I am there to relax and...

Re: Even the most benign of rivers can bite you on the butt!

I made my 14 year old son read this thread. He has complained before about his life jacket being uncomfortable on some wild water. I have had some sleepless nights lying in bed thinking about how...

Re: Trout bummin' later in life

I think you have probably nailed it. Who wants to spend a winter in Montana, not me. I used to think I wanted to be a guide but I have had enough newbies in the boat to know that is straight hard...

Re: Trout bummin' later in life

Wow, so sad. I just retired from a career in teaching and would love to take off and be a fly fishing bum too. It is my passion but I am scared I would end up like this guy. Alternative is to move...

Re: Green river trip report

Did you row the mother in law rapid ? I am new on the sticks myself. We did the dream vacation this summer and I rowed the Yellowstone, Madison, Box Canyon of Henrys Fork and the Snake. On the way...

Smile Re: First Trip For My Son and I

I understand completely. I stumbled into fly fishing summer of 2011 when i hired a guide for a float trip in Colorado for my 11year old son and myself. Summer of 2012 we made 4 trips to the San Juan,...

Re: July trip to New Mexico & Colorado

Drive a little farther west and fish the San Juan, best river in NM. Easy to fish, lots of big fish. You could fish it without a guide. I could also recommend several good guides.
