Be sure to Check your local regulations. I don't think you're supposed to target bull trout. (At least in parts of Alberta). I'm no expert, but you'll probably want to ask one.

Before I could cast a fly rod, I used those orange and black bobbers. essentially as strike indicators. caught a bunch of rock bass with that dragging woolly buggers and leeches through some currents...

Couple things I'd consider (which you may have thought of already):
If there's any wind at all, you get blown around pretty quickly without an anchor of some sort since there is so much side surface...

I was also surprised at the variations in Browns that I caught last fall on one lake. some were silver with dots with almost no color. others were like a sunset. same day many different fish caught.
