Nice smooth casting!

Be careful practising on grass too much though as your ‘kiss & go’ timing - once ingrained – can be tough to change and is normally different on water!

I was once told to "keep the fish swimming" - never letting it rest - and sweeping the rod side to side may certainly do this.

This sounds to me like you are 'pushing' the rod. Try this drill: {assuming you are right handed} make sure your elbow never leaves your side and your right hand is NEVER more than 12-15 inches away...
