Thanks for the response. I wouldnt say its wobbly.
Pretend like you were going to pull the spool off. If you make that movement, there just seems to be the smallest wiggle room.

So I got a new gold Access reel this past weekend. Let my dad check it out, and he dropped it... the drag knob is all dinged up. Thats not the worry. The spool feels like there is the slightest bit...

I would maybe consider something outside of the Orvis family. However, to get the combined 75 dollars off, I need to get a whole Orvis kit. I just cant decide on the dumb reel though!

So, I was fishing today... decided to switch out the fly rod, as I had no luck with it. Within the first 6 casts with a bait-caster I latched on to a monster fish!

Thank for the suggestions, guys. I went out today and tried a few streamers with no luck. I think I may need to go a bit deeper.
As for the carp... I wish I could bring myself to fish for them, but...

I saw that the new Clearwater is going to be very similar to the helios, minus some of the polymers used. Seems like it will be a great deal at $199. Thoughts?

Well guys, my search ends! I was at an orvis store and ordered the Gale force pack, as they didn't have it in-store, plus I had a $25 coupon. Ill report back when I get it.

Well, when I like to fish for trout(when I can find time to drive a bit)
but in the summer I also like to fish for bluegills and bass.
And in the spring/fall I fish the steelhead run... or at least...
