Re: YNP - Sight Seeing and Fishing

PLENTY of scenic locations in YNP that also fish well.
But keep in mind:

1. If you get dropped off to fish while she cruises the scenes, there is no cell-phone coverage in most of the park. ...

Re: Trip Report to YNP and Madison River

Beautiful pics. Thanks for the report.

Next year I've GOT to get to YNP during late summer. I fish there every year during June, but never can schedule August. Time for a change!

Re: Fly Fishing Yellowstone NP

Thanks for sharing.

I fish the park during June each year, so I miss out on that region of YNP. Nice fish!

May I suggest that you type up a list of items to pack for each trip. Otherwise...

Re: Thief sole my fish and fly.

Thanks for sharing that. Funny.

I've lost Bonefish to Barracuda, but never had a problem in freshwater. Somewhere on this forum is a guy who's lost a trout to an otter.

Re: DIY Bonefishing Belize

You guys have fun.

Word of caution. The word "Joe" has a derogatory meaning in Belize.
Among Creole-speaking and Garifuna folks, it refers to a man who is having sex with a friend's wife. As...

Re: DIY Bonefishing Belize

Thanks, David.

BTW, that's "turtlegrass", not "eel grass". Eel grass is more temperate; turtlegrass is throughout the Caribbean. And you'll benefit from weedless flies if you fish in/over it! :D...

Re: Bighorn Mountains Trip Report

Thanks.

Beautiful pics, but some didn't load for me. Did you move or modify them after uploading? It could be my system; can everyone else see all pics?

From top, #4, 5, and 6 didn't load.

Re: Montana Trip 2014

Thanks for sharing.
I've got to get back to YNP during late summer. For the past 2 summers I've spent 10 days during June fishing the park. I miss Slough and the NE region.

Hard to sit home and...

Never fished there, but fished Belize many times.

Re: best places to fish in southern Wyoming

Believe me, a 1-2 hour drive is GREAT. This summer I've driven 26 hours to Yellowstone, 8 hours to the Smokies, and just returned from a 26-hour drive into Ontario.

Wanna trade places? :D

Re: Are You Planning a Trip to Yellowstone NP?

I spent my vacation in YNP during June this year.
Now, despite an upcoming anniversary and family reunion, I'm chomping (and champing) at the bit for a return.
If you can go, take pics for us. ...

Re: Yellowstone - Early July

Caddis colors? It was all white when I was there last month. That's all I needed. But I talked with a guy who was having success with black-winged caddis late in the day on the Madison.

Re: Yellowstone - Early July

I just returned from a 2-week trip to Yellowstone, fishing every day, all day (June 19-30). WONDERFUL!

I tried fishing all over the west side of the park, but the Firehole was best, by far. I...

Re: eagle claw trailmaster trp600 line ?

Me too. I just bought one at a yard sale. Really a neat (6-piece) rod for traveling. Mine is graphite, marked 4-10 (must be line size). It's 7.5' long. Huh?

Indigo Buntings are still on our feeders. Usually by now they've either migrated farther north or moved into the meadows for nesting.
