Re: Cimarron last weekend

I love the Cimarron! That water looks a bit turbid. I can't believe such a low water flow. Very nice fish! I'm like you, I hope it hangs around for a while.

Re: The Players Championship

Glad to see Fowler win a major. He had a fantastic finish. I would have liked to see Garcia win but I was pulling for Fowler all the way as he is a former Okla State Cowboy golfer.

That fly looks a lot like a "Yakkity Yak" tied by PostFly Box. My son in Wyoming uses them on the North Platte.

What's in an IM12?

I'm currently looking for a new(or used) 9ft 5wt fly rod. I've found several that are built on an IM12 blank. To show how far behind I am, my last rod was an IM6. So what is the difference between...

Re: New Mexico Fly Fishing

If you are in the NE section of New Mexico, try fishing the Cimarron river along US 64. It is a small stream with small fish but occasional larger ones are there. It is a challenging stream with much...

Re: Fly fishing in Oklahoma tailwaters

I believe you are talking about the "evening hole", just above the bridge. Good place to start. You'll drive past the Broken Bow fly shop on your way in. Stop in and ask questions. A wooly bugger or...

Re: Okuma Rods

I bought an Okuma "Magnitude" fly rod a few years ago. It was supposed to be a backup for my 9.5' Powell Timax rod. I soon traded places with the two rods, the Magnitude becoming my main rod. It was...

Re: No-Knot Fas-Snap, have you ever used it?

Runningfish - I've tried the small with an #8 nymph and the snap is just too small. Now a #10 is OK with a small but I prefer the medium for that size. I have tried the small snap with a #12 dry fly...

Re: No-Knot Fas-Snap, have you ever used it?

Yes, I've been using them for several years now. My old fingers just wouldn't function in tying on small flies with small knots. Saw these in Bass P.. and thought I'd try them. I use the small for...

Re: Where can I get this blade?

Re: Is it better to have a 4wt and a 5wt, or a 4wt and a 6wt?

Good question! I played around with both options for a while and ended up with a medium fast 4wt and a fast 6wt. I have 3DT, 4DT, and 5WF lines for the 4wt. I put a 5DT and 6WF on the 6wt rod. I use...
