I just got one brand new. 169 is a steal. Mine is for striper fishing and even the "smaller ones" bend it good.

Everyone has their favorite, I chose the simms because it has a nylon coated cable instead of bungee. It amazes me seeing older people wading without them, its hard for me at times and im only 50.

Using weighted and unweighted flies is personal preference. I do both just depends. I anchor my lead like mentioned above.

Guys that fish the Elk river in WV know it takes size 32 at times if you want to catch fish. Ive never tied them or have any hooks that small but have caught fish on a size 32 spinner. It was evening...

Ive been using allens barbless jig hooks quite a bit and like them more and more. If I have sun gloves on they're soaking wet before fish handling.

I call mine the turd. I drive it because it gets better gas mileage than my truck. 1994 suzuki sidekick. It's 4x4 and has rusting out rocker panels. Mechanically it is fine but looks like a turd....

Broke my TFO, bass pro changed it out for me since it was new. Broke a redington and have no clue how it happened. I think it was $25 or 30 to replace.

I was there yesterday. I like spillway, water was off color, caught 6 there. Evening hole area looks terrible and it was crowded. Fly fishing wasn't very good from all the fly guys I talked to.

I've bought some decent reels off of steepandcheap.com. My trout 2 has been fine so far, trout 1 drag will only tighten about halfway. Been swimming a lot. My reels are tools not decorations.

Im guessing you fished zone 2 or 3? Won't be long and zone 1 will be open. We might take a trip to the Blue this week. I tied a bunch of cracklebacks yesterday, probably one of my favorite flies.
