I would buy a boat before an 8 weight if you want to catch stripers. You pretty much need a boat. There is basically no fishing from shore. I grew up on the ocean and bought a boat for the Chesapeake...

That fish is from the catch and release section of the Gunpowder. That size fish are common enough, anything bigger gets tricky.

Stay in the cabin and drink beer..... Or maybe walk to the headwaters of some of those bookie streams out there. I would imagine the headwaters would clean up first.

Yeah I know the drill about BFT, they are top of the food chain in more ways then one. I used to do surveys of large pelagics for nmfs in nj as a teenager.
