Ia trouter , Agreed with your comments with slight modification . For the size of water here in my location the CT is not a niche rod as I fish small double nymphs and short casts and it works well....

I need to say the mid flex Helios 1 rods are awesome and totally different from the H2. The 8'6"4 wght is my best rod in this size bar none.I have gone on record the midflex H1 cast more like the H2...

First I think the Sage you own is awesome rod as I have same stick and place it along my Winston IM6 8'6" 5 as classic graphite level. The SLT is maybe more medium fast. The H2 that most rave about...

I have two midflex Helios 8'6" 4 & 5 and love them but they are the original Helios and not the H2. Now I could be nuts but test casting the H2 tip flex they seem very similar the mid flex earlier...

Need to throw out Larry Kenney's 7'3" 3 wght as a player. Very similar to Chris's rod . There are in my opinion more fantastic custom glass rods from multiple sources in 7-8' range across 3/4/5 wghts...

Ditto on Chris Barclay 's 7'2" 3 wght as only lawn casted it but awesome. I have his 7'10" 5 wght . Japanese made blanks to chris's specs. Reel for 6'6" :: my recommendation Ross Hunnison 1.

Basically you are looking at four price points: Scott G2 , Orvis SFT, Allen Heritage & Redington CT with four "somewhat" similar casting characteristics but significant aesthetics refinements....
